Mini is “Best of British”

The original Mini is named best British car ever built in new survey.

Autocar readers have voted Sir Alec Issigonis’s iconic Mini as their top British car of all-time.

Lotus is revealed as Britain’s most popular manufacturer of all time, with seven models making the top 100 – more than any other. Jaguar, Ford and Aston Martin are next up.

A few surprises in the Top 25 below. I loved my unreliable Rover SD1, but I wouldn’t put in my Top 25. That said, I would put the Rover P6 in there. What do you think?
