McLaren has released the first official pictures of its stunning new 650s supercar.
The 200mph+ car, which will be one of the stars of next month’s Geneva Motor Show, will sit between the 12C and the sold-out P1.
Predictably, some commentators have already uncharitably said that the 650s looks like “somebody stitched the front half of a McLaren P1 to the back half of a McLaren 12C”.
The twin-turbocharged V8 engine has been boosted from the 12C’s 616bhp to 641bhp and though its exact performance figures will not be revealed until March, it’s thought to be capable of 207mph and 0-60mph in three seconds.
It will be available as a fixed-head coupé or as a spider and the first cars will be delivered in the spring.
McLaren claims the 650S is designed to be the best and most engaging driver’s car in its class with ride comfort and refinement “to executive saloon standards”.
