The marketing team at Vauxhall have clearly been on the WINE GUMS – meet the ADAM ROCKS.
This cutie is the latest to join a relatively new battleground – the “urban mini-crossover” sector.
Arguably Fiat were first there with their Panda 4×4, to be followed by the recently announced Panda Cross, while the ADAM ROCKS is more eye candy than serious crossover.
The Panda Cross will have all-wheel drive, while the ADAM sticks with its standard drive through the front wheels.
Beneath the ADAM’s “rugged, outdoor looks and electric folding canvas roof”, Vauxhall have jacked up the suspension and will offer a choice of 17-inch or 18-inch alloy wheels with colour options.
Some have harshly likened the ROCKS to the death throe that was the Rover Streetwise. They can scoff, but the ADAM is a marketing success and the ROCKS is a breath of fresh air – literally.
The ROCKS will also be the first Vauxhall to feature Vauxhall’s all-new 1.0-litre ECOTEC Direct Injection Turbo three-cylinder engine and it will come in new exterior paint colours, starting with “Goldbusters” yellow.
No announcement on pricing yet, but the ADAM ROCKS is due to go on sale this summer.
